Pacyfire Engineering LLP provide expert solution in Pacycrete 640 cementitious fireproofing

At Pacyfire Engineering LLP, Pacycrete 640 is our medium-density cementitious fireproofing system designed to protect structural steel and concrete in demanding industrial and infrastructure environments. It is formulated to give reliable fire resistance where both thermal performance and reduced loading on the structure are important – such as pipe racks, equipment structures, tunnels, terminals and process buildings.

Pacycrete 640 provides a robust layer of passive fire protection that slows the temperature rise of steel during a fire, helping the structure maintain its load-bearing capacity for the required rating. The system delivers a smooth, durable finish that is suitable for both exposed and enclosed locations, and can be top-coated where an enhanced architectural appearance or additional environmental resistance is needed.

Formulated and tested to international standards, Pacycrete 640 combines excellent adhesion to primed steel and approved substrates with stable, crack-resistant performance in service. It can be applied by pump-spray or hand trowel, builds thickness efficiently, and cures to a tough surface that withstands normal plant traffic, vibration and weathering. Backed by Pacyfire Engineering’s engineering design, application and inspection capability, it plays a key role in many of our passive fire protection schemes.

Service Satisfaction

At Pacyfire Engineering, we know that process plants and infrastructure require different levels of fire protection in different zones. Pacycrete 640 is designed as a versatile, cost-effective solution for a wide range of fire scenarios – from hydrocarbon spill fires in open areas to cellulosic fires in enclosed spaces such as control buildings, pipe galleries and utility structures.

Our engineering team reviews fire design data, steel sizes, loading and environmental exposure to determine the correct Pacycrete 640 thickness for each member. Using project drawings and 3D models, we prepare detailed fireproofing layouts and thickness maps, coordinating with consultants, EPC contractors and fabricators so that connections, interfaces and inspection points are clearly defined before work starts on site.

On site, our trained application crews manage every step:

  • Surface preparation and priming in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

  • Mesh installation where required.

  • Layer-by-layer application of Pacycrete 640 by pump-spray or hand trowel.

  • Finishing, thickness (DFT) checks and curing inspections.

Our Pacycrete 640 applications Include

  • Structural steel in refineries, petrochemical plants and tank farms where medium-density cementitious protection is sufficient.
  • Pipe racks, platforms and equipment structures in process plants and terminals.
  • Tunnels, underpasses and infrastructure projects requiring durable, cementitious fire protection to defined ratings.
  • Control buildings, substations and pipe galleries with cellulosic or mixed fire exposures.
  • LPG and fuel handling areas where reduced structural loading and good mechanical durability are important.
  • Strengthening and reinstatement of existing fireproofed steel where original materials are damaged, aged or non-compliant.

All work is carried out under approved method statements and quality plans. Each area is inspected for thickness, adhesion and finish, and results are recorded for QA/QC dossiers and future audits.

Beyond new projects, Pacycrete 640 is also well suited for repairing and upgrading existing cementitious fireproofing. We can remove loose or incompatible material, prepare the substrate and reinstate fire protection to current standards – coordinating around live operations and shutdown windows to minimise disruption.
