Pacyfire Engineering LLP provide Maintenance & Inspection Services for Passive Fire Protection systems

At Pacyfire Engineering LLP, we provide structured maintenance and inspection services that keep your passive fire protection systems reliable throughout their design life. From fire-rated ductwork and PACYCRETE cementitious fireproofing to intumescent coatings, firestopping and tunnel linings, we work as a specialist partner to owners, consultants and EPC contractors to make sure installed systems continue to deliver the fire performance they were designed for.

Our team understands the demanding requirements of modern fire codes, insurance standards and internal safety policies. Through scheduled inspections, testing, reporting and remedial works, we help you demonstrate compliance, extend service life and avoid costly failures. Every visit is documented, traceable and backed by Pacyfire’s engineering expertise.

Service Satisfaction

At Pacyfire Engineering, our maintenance and inspection offering is built around practical field experience and carefully controlled procedures. We support you from hand-over to long-term operation, starting with a review of the as-built drawings, product data sheets, approvals and earlier test records. Based on the system type and risk category, we prepare a maintenance and inspection plan that defines what needs to be checked, how often, and how the results will be recorded.

On site, our trained technicians survey passive fire systems in critical areas such as industrial plants, refineries, tunnels, data centres, high-rise buildings and infrastructure projects. We check for mechanical damage, corrosion, impact to DFT / thickness, water ingress, unsealed penetrations and any alterations made during later fit-outs. Special attention is given to joints, supports, dampers, access doors and interfaces between different systems where fire-stopping is vital.

Every system we inspect is evaluated against manufacturer recommendations, original test evidence and current project specifications. Where issues are found, we classify them by severity, propose corrective actions and, with your approval, carry out repairs using compatible, certified materials. Our aim is to keep your passive fire protection in a ready-to-perform state, with minimum disruption to operations.

We coordinate closely with your HSE, operations and maintenance teams to plan shutdowns and access, ensuring that inspections around process equipment, occupied areas and live services are completed safely. All findings are compiled into a clear, photo-rich report with location references, DFT readings, batch details and traceable documentation so that authorities, insurers and consultants have full confidence in the system’s condition.

Beyond routine inspections, Pacyfire Engineering also undertakes life-cycle assessments, upgrade studies and rectification of non-compliant or aged systems. Whether it is bringing older installations in line with new fire strategies, replacing incompatible repairs, or documenting systems that were never formally recorded, we help you regain control over your passive fire protection assets.

Our Maintenance & Inspection Services Include

  • Condition surveys & compliance audits of existing passive fire protection systems, including PACYCRETE fireproofing, intumescent coatings, fire-rated ductwork, firestopping and tunnel linings.
  • Dry film thickness (DFT) and density checks using calibrated instruments, verifying that installed thickness matches tested and specified values.
  • Visual inspection for damage, corrosion and defects such as cracking, delamination, impact damage, water ingress, missing sections and unsealed penetrations.
  • Verification of details at joints and interfaces – hangers, supports, access doors, dampers, sleeves and collars – to ensure continuous fire resistance and correct sealing.
  • Repair and rectification works using approved materials and methods, including patch repairs, re-profiling, re-coating and reinstatement after modifications or service changes.
  • Documentation, reporting & tagging, including photographic records, marked-up drawings, asset IDs, inspection forms and recommendations for corrective actions and future budgets.
  • Planned preventive maintenance (PPM) programmes with agreed inspection frequencies, KPIs and dashboards for facility teams and management review.
  • Training & awareness sessions for in-house maintenance staff on how to recognise damage, avoid unsafe alterations and report issues before they become critical.
With Pacyfire Engineering LLP as your maintenance and inspection partner, you gain a single, accountable specialist responsible for the long-term performance and compliance of your passive fire protection systems.
